Rates that Determine Blood Presssure

The pressure exerted by blood on the walls of the blood vessels is known as blood pressure. The blood pressure supposed to be good for a human being is 120/80 mmHg.

Anything above this rate or below this level causes health problem heart attack, stroke, lightheadedness dizziness etc.

The blood pressure rates show us a limit crossing which a person should get proper check up done.  The normal rate has been mentioned above. The blood pressure level below this normal rate results in hypotension. The blood pressure rate at this level fall to less than 90 mmHg, as systolic blood pressure, or less than 60 mmHg, as diastolic blood pressure. Hypotension results is problems such as loss of consciousness, headache, fatigue, irregular heart beat etc.

On the other hand when the blood pressure rate goes above the normal rate it leads to a condition called hypertension. The blood pressure rate at this level goes above the 120/80 mmHg mark.

120-139 mmHg at systolic level or 80-89 at diastolic level marks the pre-hypertension phase.

140-159 at systolic level or 90-99 at diastolic level sets the Stage 1 hypertension rate.

160-179 at systolic level or 100-109 marks the Stage 2 hypertension phase.

Now a blood pressure rate more than 180 mmHg systolic or more than 110 mmHg diastolic shows that the person is suffering from hypertensive crisis.

The above shows us the different bench mark blood pressure rate for classifying different types of problems from hypertension to hypotension. So if one sees that the above rate is being crossed it is necessary for an individual get a proper check up done.

Cholesterol Limits

For living healthy and fit life we should eat food that that are healthy and hygienic. There is an important determinant of health called the cholesterol. It is soft, waxy fat-like(lipid) substance found in cell membrane.

There are two types of cholesterol present in our body. This first one is the LDL cholesterol or the bad cholesterol and the second one is the HDL cholesterol or the good cholesterol. The cholesterol level in a body can be found out by a simple blood test which can now also be performed at home.

The optimum cholesterol level for a person is 129 mf/dL.

The optimal LDL cholesterol level in one’s body should be less than 100 mg/dL. The lower the LDL level the lesser is the health risk.

The total cholesterol level if it is below 200 mg/dL and the HDL cholesterol level is 40 mg/dL or greater then the person is in good health and should do check at regular intervals with efforts also to reduce the total cholesterol level.

The total cholesterol level if below 200 mg/dL and the HDL cholesterol level if also below 40mg/dL then a blood test called the lipoprotein profile is to be done which show the LDL cholesterol level.

The cholesterol level if between 200 to 239 mg/dL and the HDL cholesterol level greater than 40 mg/dL then the person needs to see a doctor as he has a chance of heart attack. He will perform a lipoprotein profile to know the LDL cholesterol level.

The total cholesterol level if goes above 240 mg/dL then lip protein profile is necessary.

It is important to note that no matter what the cholesterol level is one must eat food which contains less saturated fat and cholesterol.
